Advocacy, Part 1 (Week 5)
Leadership Development
This lesson introduces students to the concept of advocacy and its various forms in effecting social change. Students explore historical examples of successful advocacy movements, examining how individuals and groups have influenced public policy and opinion over time. To apply their learning, students work in groups to identify a problem in their school or community and propose a hypothetical law to address it. The lesson aims to foster a sense of civic responsibility and empower students to engage in advocacy for causes they care about.
